The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is coming to you direct from the London Palladium. Coming to Liverpool’s Empire Theatre from 13th December 2023 – 7th January 2024.

“The Wizard of Oz” is a beloved musical that has enchanted audiences for generations. The musical is based on the classic novel by L. Frank Baum and was first adapted into a film in 1939, starring Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale. Since then, the story has been adapted for the stage in various ways. Including as a stage play and as well as a full-scale musical production.

The musical follows the adventures of Dorothy, a young girl from Kansas who is swept away to the magical land of Oz by a tornado. Along the way, she meets a group of unlikely allies: a scarecrow, a tin man, and a cowardly lion. Together, they journey to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard of Oz and ask him for help in returning home.

The music in the musical is iconic. Featuring memorable songs such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and “Follow the Yellow Brick Road,”. Not forgetting “If I Only Had a Brain/Heart/Nerve.” The characters are also beloved, with Dorothy and her companions capturing the hearts of audiences young and old.

The musical has been performed all over the world, and its popularity shows no signs of waning. Its themes of friendship, courage, and the importance of home resonate with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
